The original Genesis website was static, meaning that revisions had to be done manually.  Although the clients are certainly adept at computer systems and programming, the fact that the website had no dedicated Content Management System made it difficult and time-consuming to administer.  It had also become disorganized over time, and its outdated look-and-feel didn’t accurately reflect the company’s cutting-edge products and services.

AndiSites’ redesign resulted in a contemporary and attractive website, and the use of professional stock photography provided beautiful visual cues reflecting the geographical areas that the company serves.  A brighter, cooler palette made the site easy on the eyes and gives user a more pleasant browsing experience.  “Lightbox”-style modal windows display screenshots and slideshows attractively, and plenty of links among pages allow the user to find what they need easily.  Information entered into an easy-to-use contact form is emailed to the client immediately upon submission.  And finally, a members-only download section allows clients with the proper login credentials to access and download protected files provided by the company.

Best of all, the entire site is driven by WordPress, winner of the 2010 Open Source CMS Hall of Fame award and an all-around great way to develop robust websites quickly and relatively inexpensively.

To begin with she was very easy to work with, listening to everything I communicated to her — including a number of revisions — and offering helpful suggestions. While I was giving her my design requirements and ideas, she also had numerous contacts with our technical consultant to make sure all the behind-the-scenes tasks our web site needed to do would be handled correctly. This project was a rescue operation in a situation that we unfortunately encounter all too often.  STI had hired a firm to design their branding and website, but the company was difficult to reach, took forever to get anything done, and delivered a final product that not only looked unprofessional but just plain didn’t work.  The client had to return to the company for even the smallest changes to text and content, and although the site provided a way for people to register online, the administrative system provided for the collection of information was clunky and disorganized.

AndiSites did a total redesign of the site and branding, resulting in a much more professional and attractive look-and-feel.  We created a streamlined online registration system for job seekers that feeds into an intuitive backend, as well as a form that allows users to contact the company directly for more information (all form contents are emailed to the company immediately).  A video page allows the client to post videos of interest to job seekers and employers.  An integrated WordPress blog allows the client to post recent news and thoughts on the industry.  And, of course, we created a custom Content Management System that allows the client to administer all content himself, eliminating the need to return to us if he needs to make an update.

Future development for this site will include a live seminar registration system; e-commerce enabling the sale of training materials; live and self-paced training courses; and video resume capabilities.

AndiSites converted Margot’s original Typepad blog to WordPress and rebuilt the site using the powerful Thesis theme.  Margot has complete control over all content on the site using the intuitive WordPress dashboard, allowing postings and revisions at any time from any computer.  A category list makes it easy to find Margot’s words of wisdom on a variety of subjects, and subscription features let them come straight to your inbox as they’re posted.
